Packing Your Bag for hospital
Pack your bag about four weeks before due date for
that inevitable trip to the hospital. Your packing should
include all the items that you need during labor plus
items required for the postnatal stay in the hospital.
Labour
- Birth plan
- Toileries: Soap, Lotion ,Facecloth from home (colored, so it doesn't get into hospital laundry)
- Dressing gown and slippers
- Hot water bottle
- Massage/aromatherapy oils
- Lollipops and hard candy (for dry mouth)
- socks for cold feet
- Tennis balls (for back massage)
- Watch or stopwatch (with a second hand for timing contractions)
- Tape/CD Player
- Camera
Hospital Stay
- Toiletries and make up
- 3 nursing bras
- loose button- through shirts
- Elasticised pants or track pants
- Nighties or pyjamas( preferably with a front opening for breast feeding)
- Breast pads
- 2 packets of maternity pads
- Your personal telephone directory
- Snack food such as dried food or nuts
- Set of baby clothes for the trip home,including singlets, nappies, stretch suit , booties & receiving blankets
