Have you given birth recently or are you about to give birth?
Concerned about being sleep deprived?
Volunteers Needed in Brisbane or Greater Brisbane Area
Research is being conducted by Queensland University of
Technology (QUT) and the Centre for Accident Research and
Road Safety -Queensland (CARRS-Q) to look at tiredness and
fatigue in those who have new babies.
Tiredness and fatigue in the postnatal period is such a
common experience for most women and when mothers of new
babies experience extreme tiredness or fatigue, it follows
that other aspects of their lives can be affected.
We are looking to recruit women who have given birth or
are due to give birth to a single baby during the months
of June, July or August 2008.
Our research will involve completing a questionnaire package
at 6, 12, and 18 weeks after your baby is born and an interview
with one of the researchers. The questionnaire will collect
information about your sleep and mood during these periods.
You will also receive an information booklet that will help
you to understand sleepiness and fatigue and give you tools
to assist in managing your fatigue.
To compensate you for your investment of time, completion
of each of the four data collection points will make you
eligible to receive a $20.00 Coles Myer Voucher, in total
$80.00 worth of Vouchers.
All comments and responses are anonymous and will be treated
confidentially.
