You will be amazed to know how your baby develops in every passing week of the pregnancy. Learn about the changes taking place in mother's body and the growing baby.

At this stage, the hormone progestrone slows down the digestion of food for allowing baby to absorb nutrients from your diet. What ever you are eating now is directly affecting your baby's growth. But at the same time, due to slow digestion and pressure on intestines you may have heartburns. The best solution is to have smaller and frequent meals. Sipping cold water is the best remedy for heartburn. By the end of week 25, Your baby measures 23.0 cm and weighs about 650-700 g. Though your baby is still skinny and wrinkly , its growing rapidly and starting to take up the space in your uterus. The baby's second set of teeth which 'll be permanent have started developing in buds high inside the gums.

Your fundal height has reached approximately 2 to 2 1/2 inches above your navel. You may face the problem of urine leakage, You can try Kegel exercises to strengthen the muscles that control urination. You will often find yourself with aches and pains from the pressure of the baby. Doing a little bit of movement or changing position may ease the pain. Your baby now measures 24-26cm and weighs 680 -750g. The baby can now inhale, exhale and even cry. If baby were born now it would have 70 percent of surviving but there is a 20-30 percent chance of having disability which may become life long challenge.

During this time you will continue to put on weight and will continue to do so until about your 36th or 37th week. The reason is that baby will also put on three quarters of its weight during this period. You may be finding difficult to get into a comfortable sleeping position. Buy yourself a good size body pillow to support your legs and growing belly. Your baby now measures 30 cm and weighs about 1Kg. Your baby's movements will be assuring factor of its well being. Each baby has different movement patterns, if you feel any change in frequency or intensity must bring it to the notice of your doctor.

Your breasts may start to leak colostrum. a prelude to milk. A vaginal swap test is done around this time to exclude bacterial infection.You will not be able to see any prior symptons, so don't try to avoid this test as it can unrest your baby with neonatal infection.

Your baby now measures 34 cm and weighs about 1.2 Kg. This is a phase where baby not only lenghens but also fills out by developing subcutaneous fat. Your baby's sensory organs are well developed and can now open and close its eyes and will turn its head if you shine a light on your abdomen.
